💖 What a dream to work with Paul Nakata again! 💖 We are building something truly special over at Unblocked - but you just don't have to take our word for it. Here's some of the things our customers have to say:"Unblocked empowers every developer with the insight once reserved for the seasoned few. This is the best application of AI's potential in enhancing developer proficiency, making developers themselves more effective — rather than typing for them.""Unblocked is the first app that can actually bring together knowledge from the tools that I use and make it available to me through natural conversation. I can't imagine a future without a tool like this.""Every developer now has the ability to tap into past discussions and decisions to fill their knowledge gaps, regardless of their tenure. We aremoving faster and making more accurate decisions as a teamas a result."👉 Give Unblocked a try at www.getunblocked.com.

Some news! Today, I’m joining Unblocked as COO, and in doing so, I'm becoming part of “a group of ambitious malcontents who are dissatisfied with the status-quo.” I honestly could not feel more at home.Unblocked augments source code with relevant knowledge across a company’s internal systems (think GitHub, Slack, Confluence, Jira, Notion and more), giving developers a highly customized LLM that can explain the nuances and specifics of their codebase — how it works, why it was written, and why it works the way it does. The impact here is profound; with Unblocked developers can answer their own questions without interrupting their peers or having to wait for meetings – and they can find the information they need from wherever they're working (including their IDE). Here’s how I got here:In 2016 I helped write the story about a place where work happens, built largely upon the idea that the piece missing from our working lives was a single interface where you could find all the people, projects, and tools needed to get things done. However, many years past the origination of that story, there’s no doubt that we are still all overwhelmed with the volume of information and tools we have on hand, and we waste large portions of our day searching for the answers we need to complete the work that’s being asked of us. Yet, work spans tools and teams by necessity. In particular, a company’s codebase is heavily influenced by thousands of internal decisions and discussions, not to mention a continuous stream of customer feedback. The context that explains what was built and why will always be spread across multiple products used by engineering, product, design, support, and more. A single interface can’t fully solve this problem - we need a smarter workflow for finding answers and that's what Unblocked provides. I’ve gotten to know the team over the past year, and I believe they are onto something substantial. Looking at growth numbers and customer feedback since the product launched last October, it’s clear that Unblocked’s users also feel the same way. For my bit, I’m incredibly excited to get the chance to build again, especially for a developer tool. If you haven’t tried it yet, I’d love to show what Unblocked can do. And if you’re interested in helping build Unblocked, send me a note - I’d love to talk!More at www.getunblocked.com!

There's so much to figure out when you're working with a board of directors - and it's a super tough environment for trial and error. Adam Fishman's write up contains so many things I wished I'd known when I first got started.

It's still early, but it looks like 2024 is shaping up to be a year in which I get to contain multitudes. I'm thrilled to see roles from last year continue. It's a joy to be on the board at honeycomb.io - what an incredible team and company to have the opportunity to support! I'm also lucky to get to continue my work with Reforge, presenting to live cohorts taking the PLG course. (Note: have you registered for the upcoming session yet?!)I'm also adding two new things to my plate this year:1. Joining First Round Capital as a Board Partner, where I'll work alongside founders and their teams as they face the thousands of questions that arise when building out products and companies. I love this work, and feel honored to pay it forward from all the folks who helped me over the years as an operator. 2. Launching All Hands Club - a new coworking and community space in San Rafael, CA. In our post-pandemic, hybrid/remote world, we need places where we can all find the social scene that's been missing from our lives - and that's what All Hands Club is all about. And seeing that it's only January, I'm sure there will be even more to come!
